
In a ThinkMoney survey, 25% of British adults say they have less than £12 per week to spend after their essential bills are paid.
ThinkMoney have also calculated that, for 4.5 million British adults, the figure is less than £3 a week.
Across the UK, the average (we assume this is the mean average) monthly disposable income was just over £50 per week. As our intrepid inequality watchers will have already imagined, many more people will be below the mean average than above it.
